Q1: What format is this book available in? What will I receive? (What are "codes")?

Q1: What format is this book available in? What will I receive? (What are "codes")?
A: The books are full color downloadable digital books. They are in PDF format and can be read on any device that reads basic PDFs. They include a clickable Table of Contents that takes you directly to each chapter or appendix. After your payment has been confirmed, you will receive an email with the receipt for the purchase and a link (or "code") taking you to the downloadable document. These codes will allow you to download and save the file to your device for personal use. Each order comes with 3 attempts to download within a 30 day period. After those three attempts or 30 days (whichever comes first), you will not be able to use those codes. So, don't lose those codes and don't wait to download them!
Q2: "I lost the codes!" OR "I accidentally deleted the book after downloading." OR "I forgot to download the book, and it has been more than 30 days!" What do I do?????
A: If this was a recent gift or purchase, usable codes may be still in your email (or the email of the person who gave it to you). Codes can be used up to 3 times to download within 30 days. If you have used all your opportunities to download the book OR more than 30 days have passed, contact "Solstice and Equinox" and we can confirm your purchase and resend the codes to the original email that the codes were purchased under. (If you received this as a gift they will then need to forward the codes to you). Don't wait too long though. There are limits to how long we can retrieve the information.
ALTERNATIVE PURCHASING OPTIONS (payment and hardcopy questions)
Q3: I don't want to pay electronically. Can I pay by check?
A: Yes, you can pay by check, but it will take longer for us to confirm your payment and then get you the book. The steps are:
1. Send us an email here (or use the Contact Us button) describing what you would like to purchase. (This is important so that we know it is coming and can update you if we do not receive it).
2. Mail us a check, your email address, and what you are purchasing to: Solstice and Equinox LLC, PO Box 2287, Midland, MI 48641 (Make the check out to Solstice and Equinox LLC).
3. As soon as wee have confirmed payment (cashed the check), we will email you the codes.
This process is slower though (limited by how quickly your letter gets to us - 1-7 days in the USA depending on where you live), and so please keep this in mind if you are giving it as a gift.
Q4: Do you have a HARDCOPY of the books?
A: YES and no. We do have a paperback version of the Primary edition (Ages 1-11). We are working on producing a hardcopy edition of the Secondary Edition (Ages 11-20). This has been a long journey for us as we are not a publishing house. When we started, publishing would have cost us $80 for a book with the kind of content we are providing, but we wanted this book to be available to everyone, and we wanted to do it faster than we could through big publishing company. So we have started with electronic copies and are working toward the print copies. On the upside, this means that you gain the advantage of online accessibility.
Q5: I don't care about color or online accessibility or timeliness of orders or the cost. I just want a hardcopy! Is there any way I can get one?
A: Yes! You have two options: #1 Buy the paperback (for Ages 1-11) or #2 Print out your electronic version. Your downloadable edition is for your personal use only, but you may print it out and even bind it coursepack style for your own personal use (not sale or distribution). The cost of doing this in BLACK AND WHITE is about $15 at a local print shop. (The printshop may have concerns about copyright - email us and we can send you a release for binding the book for your own personal use that you can take to the printshop).
GIFTING "ELEMENTAL BIRTHDAYS"
Q6: Can I gift a book to someone else? How do I do that?
A: Absolutely. The digital book that you receive is intended as a "per user" document, so you cannot sell or otherwise distribute the document, but you can order for someone else and gift your codes to them. Simply order the book as you would for yourself. The codes for the download will be sent to the email you submit when you order (either automatically if you log in to Paypal, or through the email you provide if you do not log in to Paypal). Simply forward the codes to the email of person you wish to receive the book. You can also print out the codes on paper and wrap them as a gift.
Q7: The person I am giving it to does not have an email. Is there some way to still give them the book?
A: Yes. You can print out the codes on paper and wrap them as a gift. So long as they have access to a computer (or other device) and the internet, the links can be used with or without an email.
Q8: The email with the codes is kind of plain. How can I make it look more interesting?
A: Ejunkie (the service that processes the orders) has limited options for sending cool emails with the codes. However, if you would like to add the Elemental Birthday logo to make your gift visually identifiable, here is an image you can use: Elemental Birthday Gift Logo.
Q9: Is there a way to send the codes directly to the email of the person I am giving it to?
A: No, eJunkie (the service that processes the orders) requires the same email you use for payment to protect your download and confirm that it goes where it is intended. It sends both the receipts for the order and the codes to the same email. The good thing about this is that if there is a problem with the email you have for the person you are giving it to, you will still have the codes as a back-up.
